Clare Villar – Artist, Illustrator and Animal Portraiture

Presenting the Royal Honorary Colonel, HRH The Earl of Wessex with my artwork, which was commissioned by the Colonel of the Royal Wessex Yeomanry to commemorate the amalgamation in July 2014

I qualified from Falmouth College of Art in 1995 in General Illustration and I have since held numerous exhibitions in London, Oxford, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

I utilise various watercolour and acrylic techniques, which, depending on the subject matter range from either loose to very detailed.

My work is varied and commissions include Roll of Honour’s for both the Regular and Territorial Army. I have also painted vintage cars, flowers, farm animals and wild life. However, my prime interest is animal portraiture.

I have recently finished a commission for The Royal Wessex Yeomanry (pictured left) and have just taken a commission from The Kings Royal Hussars to commemorate their Tercentenary in 2015.

I live in North Herefordshire with my husband John and daughters Katie and Amelia.
